Greg is a native of Wytheville, VA where he started his funeral career in 1988 at the age of 18. He graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. He later was a Manager in Williamsburg, VA in which he eventually had the opportunity to purchase the oldest funeral home in America. After 10 years, he moved to Rock Hill, SC and became Managing Partner of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. He has over 30 years of funeral/cremation background and has two children Luke and Lexi.
Manager Whitesell Funeral Home
Jeff McWatters felt a call to ministry during his senior year at Chester High School and pursued that calling by graduating from North Greenville College (AA-1985), Gardner-Webb University (BA - 1987), and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master -1990). He has served on the staff of several churches in North and South Carolina including locally Pleasant Valley Baptist Church (Associate Pastor and Youth Minister) and the founding pastor of Fort Mill Community Church.
In 2006 Jeff joined the staff at Whitesell Funeral Home becoming a licensed funeral director. He enjoys using his spiritual gifts to minister to families through his role as a funeral director. Jeff was named manager of Whitesell Funeral Home in September 2016.
Jeff is married to Karen McWatters (1989) and they have three children, Stephanie, Justin and his wife, Elena, and Taylor. Their family is actively involved in Forest Hill Church Fort Mill Campus where Jeff serves on the security team for the children’s ministry and enjoys leading bible study in their small group.

Dayne Marsh is a South Carolina and North Carolina Licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer and Crematory Operator. He is a 2010 graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College with a degree in Mortuary Science. He has passionately served families for over ten years.
Dayne specializes in building relationships with each family he serves. During his career he has had the opportunity to participate in After-Care Groups and Funeral Home Management. Dayne and his wife Paige live in Fort Mill along with their son Barrett. In addition to his funeral service career, he is a NC Firefighter/EMT.
Administrative Director Bass Cauthen Funeral Home
Originally from Lancaster SC, she attended Lancaster High School and later York Technical College in Rock Hill SC, were she studied accounting. Peggy has lived in the Rock Hill for over 4 years. She has been in the funeral industry for over 21 years, starting at the age of 17. Peggy is married to Stephen and they have one son, Isaac. Her hobbies include furniture restoration, design and painting anything. She also enjoys spending time with her family and her many friends.
Administrative Assistant Whitesell Funeral Home
Kathy Cook is the Office Manager at Whitesell Funeral Home. Kathy started out at our Palmetto Funeral Home location in August of 2017 and moved to Whitesell in May of 2018. Kathy brings 19 years of experience as a Customer Service Manager for Belk Credit Card Services. Kathy is truly a people person and enjoys providing the highest level of service possible to our families.
Kathy was born in New Castle, PA and moved to Rock Hill in 1981. Kathy is married and had one daughter who passed away in 2009. Kathy feels that working with our families is a gift she has been given. It helps her to find peace in every opportunity that she is given to reach out to our families with true understanding and help them in any way in their time of loss.
Lead Funeral Assistant
Phil Hughes is originally from Ohio, moving to Rock Hill in 2003. He is a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves with over 21 years service. He is a big Ohio State fan (GO BUCKS). Phil and His wife, Cheryl have five children living in five different states along with eight grandchildren. Phil and Cheryl are members of St Johns United Methodist Church. Phil has been in the funeral profession since 2015.
Lexi is a native of Williamsburg, Va and has spent her High School years attending Rock Hill High School. She is graduated from ECPI University with a Criminal Justice Degree. She currently is the Administrative Assistant at our new Indian Land Location. Outside of work she an avid gym and MMA member.
