Yvonne Edna Hajec

Yvonne E (Leger) Hajec, 98, passed away on Saturday April 17, 2021 in Tega Cay, SC.

Yvonne was born on March 2, 1923 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late Philias and Emma (Richard) Leger, she lived in Springfield, moving to Feeding Hills, MA in 1958 where she resided for 57 years. She was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Golden Age Club Chapter II. Yvonne was a clerk for several stores in downtown Springfield, MA until she retired. She had many close friends, and she had the ability to amuse as a funny conversationalist.

Yvonne was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, John S Hajec, her son, Michael A Hajec, her six brothers and her sister. Yvonne is survived her daughter Mary Ann Couture and her husband Richard of Fort Mill, SC, her grandson James Couture and his wife Krystine of Windsor Locks, CT, her granddaughter Janet (Couture) Combs and her husband Tom of Tega Cay, SC. She also leaves behind her great granddaughters, Yvonne “Yvie” and Olivia Combs.

A funeral Mass and burial will be at the convenience of family in late June in Agawam Massachusetts.
