Robert Visconti, Jr Obituary

VISCONTI, Robert Thomas Jr., 58 of Rock Hill, South Carolina passed on August 21, 2020. Born in Jersey City. Bob had lived his life in Oakland NJ, Cabarrus County, NC and Rock Hill SC. He was a 1980 graduate of Indian Hills High School, Oakland, NJ. After graduation Bob attended Local 28, Sheet Metal Worker Union’s apprentice program where he went on to have a 36-year career as a sheet metal worker, Union Organizer and Foreman working in New Jersey, New York City and North Carolina. Bob was one of a kind and everyone he met was drawn to his sense of life and adventure. His greatest love was taking on large, complex construction projects. Some of his work includes, projects for many hospitals in NY, the Museum of Natural History, Panther Stadium and Concord Mills Mall.

On September 11th, 2001 Bob dropped his tool belt and rushed into the madness. Like so many others, he put aside his own safety to help others. Sadly, he lost his battle.

In his free time, he loved boating, traveling and riding his Harley. He had a love of children and animals and wanted them to enjoy life and not suffer. Bob was the beloved son of the late Robert Thomas Visconti Sr , Local 28 President and Business Agent and Marjorie Quinn. He was a devoted father to Brandon Visconti, Robert Visconti and his fiancé Jessica Sheehan and Denise Biss. He was the loving fiancée’ of Lauren Siegel. Bob was a dear brother of Jennifer Quinn Parker, Dorian Visconti Alexander, Thomas Visconti, Patrick Visconti and Matthew Visconti. Bob was also a wonderful uncle to Michael Visconti, Kayli Visconti, Ryan Alexander and Patrick Alexander.

The family will receive friends at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ on Wednesday, September 9th 3:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, September 10th from 3:00-7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by the burial and repast but is limited to those contacted due to Corona virus restrictions.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’ Hospital.
