Many nephews, nieces and special friends.

Before coming to SC, Rita resided in Florida for 40+ years devoting herself to God, her family, church and community. She worked as the school secretary at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School for 16 years. She served as Eucharistic Minister at Holy Name of Jesus and Our Lady of Grace. She volunteered her time  to St Vincent DePaul Society at  Our Lady of Grace for many years. Rita enjoyed many hobbies including oil painting, crocheting, writing poetry, sewing and playing piano.

Rita had an impact on everyone she knew through her unwavering faith, love and trust of God. She instilled this in many through her advice, prayers or a song that always seemed to answer your worries or concerns. She would look in awe at the small everyday miracles of God-from the beauty of a flower, the ocean, the good in people, a smile, finding something that was lost, the experiences of a child (especially her Grand/great Grandchildren!) and the answer to a prayer-knowing it was not always exactly as you wanted! “It’s in His hands”.

She had an unconditional love and faith in God that she shared with so many of us. We know, as she taught us, that she was to be on this earth (for 91 years!) to guide and teach us until now-the exact time that He had planned, she is Home.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Wellmore of Tega Cay for their love and care these past 4 ½ years. We also thank Hospice of Palmetto Region for their love, care and support this past year.

A celebration of life will be held at a Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic Florida at a later date.
