Nettie Daves Obituary

Nettie R. Daves, born on February 17, 1940, died on October 2, 2022 after a long illness. Nettie was the daughter of Emma Estes Rockholt and Hosia Rockholt. She was the ninth of their eleven children. A native of York County, Nettie attended Rock Hill High School and York Tech. She worked for Lowenstein for a number of years and as a Certified Nursing Assistant for White Oak Manor. She was a lifelong member of Bethesda Church.
 

Nettie is survived by her children, Lawonna Daves, Kim Daves Boyd (Ben), and Dwayne Austin Daves. Her son, David Allen Daves, preceded her in death. She has five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. They are Travis Boyd  and his daughter McKenna, Dana Thomas (Marshall) and their two children, Elizabeth Dover (Zack) and their four children, Austin Daves, and Abagayl Daves.
 

Nettie loved her murder mysteries, softball, and was crazy about her dogs, Chase and Mollie. 

She would want to thank the staff at Rock Hill Post Acute Center who so devotedly looked after her.

The funeral service will be held at Bethesda Church, 4858 McConnells Hwy, York, SC 29745 at 11:00 o’clock on Friday, October 7th, the Reverend Derek Marotta officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Special Olympics, a charity Nettie loved because it offers athletics to the disabled.
