John Elwood Ferguson

John Elwood Ferguson passed away on November 16, 2022. Born on July 15, 1936 to the late John C. and Dorothy W. Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Audrey T. Ferguson. He was a devoted son, husband, father and brother.

John joined the Marines in 1956 starting as Private First Class, next he became Sergeant with an honorable discharge in 1959. John frequently reminisced about his Marine adventures. John worked for New Jersey Bell and the Rock Hill telephone company as a lineman.  On February 28, 1959, he married the love of his life-Audrey Tanfield.

He is survived by his five ( 5 ) children, Laura (Marty), Becky (Rocco), John, Jim (Kate), Vicki (Bob). John and Audrey had nine ( 9 ) grandchildren, one ( 1 ) great grandchild and his brother Douglas Ferguson. 

A service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 2PM at Bass Cauthen Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
