Jalen Allen Obituary

       Jalen Antonio Allen, "Bud", 19, of Indian Land, SC and formerly of Syracuse, NY, entered into rest on August 15, 2020. He was born on December 28, 2000 to his loving parents, Donald "DJ" and Virginia "Genie" Allen. 

      Jalen graduated from Indian Land High School and was studying as a marketing major at Coastal Carolina University. He was an outstanding student, consistently earning Honor Roll and Dean's List throughout his educational career. He was an aspiring music artist and was a natural at songwriting. Fortnite, fishing and fantasy football are hobbies he truly enjoyed. Jalen loved basketball and football. His favorite player was Kobe Bryant of the L.A. Lakers and the Indianapolis Colts was his favorite football team. He attended Elevation Church and volunteered at the Harvest Center of Charlotte. 
     
      Jalen is preceded by his Great-Grandmother, Anna Newport, and Grandfather, Donald Allen, Sr. He is survived by his parents, Donald and Virginia Allen; Sister, Janelle "Bells" Allen; Great-Grandparents Felipe and Antonia Negron; Grandparents, Ernesto Correa and Viriginia Gonazalez-Jimenez, and Joseph and Linda Dowell; Great-Aunt Cynthia Akins; Aunts and Uncles Anna Allen, Christopher and Janette Velez, Addison and Tatiana Spears and Maryann and Michael Correa; Cousins Taylor and Tyler Dorsey, Omar, Miah and Izzy Velez, Luna Spear and so many other family members that loved him.
       

      Jalen was adored by so many family members and friends. His light gleamed, his energy was infectious - he was a whole vibe. The love he had for his family was nothing short of a reflection of the love he received from all who knew him. Jalen had a passion for life and worked hard to be the best son, friend and MAN that he could be. His memory will be kept alive and celebrated forever and beyond.
       

      The viewing will be held this Friday August 21, 2020 at 10am with the memorial service to continue at 11am at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29708.
