Edward Griffin, Jr Obituary

On Monday December 14, 2020, Edward Griffin, loving husband, and devoted father of three sons passed away at the age of 81 due to complications from Covid 19.  Edward was born on June 17, 1939 in Hackensack, New Jersey to Edward M. Griffin Sr and Marie Olivari Griffin.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University and worked for Litton Industries (Northrop Grumman), until his retirement in August 2000.  On May 4, 1963, he married Joyce Cincotta.  Together they raised three sons, Scott, Mark, and Glenn.

One of Ed’s greatest passions away from home was the Roman Catholic Church and was a member of St. Philip Neri in Fort Mill.   An active member of the Knights of Columbus, Ed most recently served as the Immediate Past State Deputy.  He was also an avid golfer, world traveler, voracious reader, and known by all for his quick wit and infectious smile.  Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, Ed will be remembered fondly for his compassionate spirit and sense of honesty, integrity, and duty.  He was also a great lover of animals and leaves behind him his beloved dog, Izzy.

Ed is survived by his wife Joyce, his three sons Scott, Mark, and Glenn, as well as his two grandchildren: Heather and Tyler.

Due to health and safety concerns, no visitation or funeral services will be held.  A Memorial Mass for Ed will be held at a future date at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill.
