Betty Morris Obituary

Betty Morris, 83, of Jensen Beach, FL and formerly of Cincinnati, OH, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 27, 2020 at her son’s home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 22, 1937 in Huntington, WV, daughter of the late Thomas J. Logsdon and Dorothy Logsdon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Logsdon and her husband, James A Morris.

Completely devoted her children and grandchildren, Betty made sure that both her sons and all of her granddaughters felt loved and special.  Always willing to put the needs of her children and granddaughters above her own, she was constantly playing chauffer and cheerleader for her kids and granddaughters.  With an Irish strong will, she fiercely protected her family. A lover of ice cream, she never met an ice cream sundae that she didn’t love. She learned early on the importance of self-sufficiency, a practice that followed her throughout her life. When younger she enjoyed being a majorette, bowling and spending time with her friends and family.

After devoting her life to raising her two sons and understanding and preaching the importance of education, Betty went back to College in her later years and earned a bachelor’s degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, Fl and went to work in accounting and later in the retail industry. Betty was a very spiritual and a devoted member of Unity Church.  She would say a prayer of protection every morning for each member of her family.

She leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by her survivors, her sons Jeff Morris and wife, Giulia Lanni of Indian Land, SC and James A Morris II of Jensen Beach, FL; granddaughters, Jaime Ruble and husband Ryan of Stuart, FL, Jordan Morris of Tucson, AZ, Taylor Morris of Orlando, FL, Brooke Morris of Jensen Beach, FL, Isabella (Izzy) Morris of Jensen Beach, FL, Sophia Morris of Jensen Beach, FL and Sierra Morris of Indian Land, SC; Sister-in-law Barbara Logsdon of Cincinnati, OH and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A Virtual Celebration of life service will be held by the family. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the hospice nurses, physicians and staff for their compassionate and supportive care that was provided during the last few weeks of her life here on earth.  Your kindness will not be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society
