Alexander Joseph Cook

Alexander “Alex” Joseph Cook, 24, of Indian Land, South Carolina passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2020.  He was born on April 10, 1996 in Pineville, North Carolina, the son of Wayne and Debbie (Conway) Cook.  He attended Indian Land schools and worked as an automotive technician at Meineke Car Care Center in Pineville, North Carolina.

Alex had an outspoken personality and a witty sense of humor. When he would show us that grin and twinkle of mischief in his eyes, we knew he was about to say something funny.  He had an infectious laugh and it was impossible to be in his presence and not be laughing along with him. 

Alex was a devoted and loving father to his two beautiful daughters, Aleah and Evy.  They were his pride and joy and would take any opportunity to share pictures or tell you stories about them.  His light truly shines in both of them. 

From a very young age, Alex developed a love for cars and motorcycles.  His father taught him to work on engines and he was always repairing a car or fixing one of his many toys.  When he wasn’t turning his wrenches, Alex loved to fish.  He could very often be found by the edge of a stream or lake quietly fishing.  The thing Alex enjoyed most is spending time with his family.  He loved hanging out laughing and sharing stories while enjoying a campfire or eating mom’s cooking.  In recent years, he became very close with his siblings, Michael, Rachael and Hannah and would quickly tell you that they were his best friends.

Alex will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Aleah and Evy Cook, his parents, Wayne and Debbie Cook, his brother Michael (Halley) Cook, his sisters Rachael and Hannah Cook, his grandparents, Michael and Bonnie Conway, his nephew, Lucas Cook, and close family friend Mary Franklin.  Alex was preceded in death by his grandmother, Freda Jakubowski.  Alex will also be forever remembered by his many cousins, extended family and dear friends.

There will a memorial service Saturday May 29, 2021 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Palmetto Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
