Albert Riddering Obituary

Albert A Riddering, born December 15, 1918, went to be with Jesus his Savior on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in Indian Land, South Carolina.

He was preceded by Clarice Mabel Riddering, his wife of 60 years, and his brothers Donald and Kirk Riddering. He is survived by his sister, Mary Paula Beyette (94 years old), living in Cass City,
Michigan.

He is also survived by his 5 children, their families and many spiritual sons and daughters in México, Puerto Rico and the USA:
 - Son Douglas Riddering (Chris Riddering), and daughters Laura Riddering(Joseph Dyer and great-grandson Kai), and Lisa Brown (Daniel Brown)
 - Daughter Anita Kay Constantino (Juan J. Constantino Jr. – Coky), and grandsons Jeremy Constantino (Amelia G. Constantino and great-grandchildren Lucía, Ambrose, Bernard and Basil), and Juan J. Constantino III – Joey (fiancé Samantha Kramer – Sami)
 - Daughter Teri Sue Riddering, and granddaughter Tandrian R. Riddering
 - Son David Riddering (Marggie Riddering), grandchildren Michelle Craft (Chad Craft and great-granddaughters Miabella and Clara), Jonathan Riddering (Magaly Aponte and great-grandchildren Melanie Claire and Dylan Albert), and Karenlie Riddering and great-granddaughters Juliana and Amelie.
 - Daughter Mary Ellen Hahn (Roger Hahn) and grandson Kevin Hahn (Elva Hahn).

He lived to be 101 years and had an amazing full and rich life. Albert was a dedicated husband, World War II veteran, father, and friend. He touched the lives of many with his adventurous spirit and achieved so many things in his century of living, that there is no space here to write about it all.

He was a gifted leader, missionary, dean, principal and teacher at Colegio Americano in Mérida, Yucatán, México; director of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church Pontiac, in Pontiac, Michigan; founder and first principal of Colegio Evangélico Capitán Correa in Arecibo, Puerto Rico; and Scout Master and mentor for many in Panamá, Michigan, México and Puerto Rico. While in Puerto Rico, Albert also served as director of the Inter-American University in Arecibo, director of Barbara Ann Roessler Academy, teacher at Robinson Academy and Wesleyan Academy and elder at Christian Community Church in Guaynabo. He loved Jesus with all his heart, soul and strength and dedicated his life to improving and blessing the lives of those around him.

He never gave up, could out-hike teenagers, traveled extensively, and had many camping adventures. During his work in Mérida, Yucatán, he and his wife Clarice obtained many scholarships for the education of students in Colegio Americano that changed their lives and that of their eventual families. He was stern, yet loving. Decisive, yet welcoming. He believed in the potential of others and gave them tools to reach their goals. He trusted Jesus and took care of his wife without complaining through her many years of sickness.

If you wish to honor Albert’s memory, enjoy fun outdoor activities or just take time to delight in God’s creation or consider making a love offering to one of the institutions mentioned above where Albert served throughout his lifetime, or donate to Providence Care Hospice, who cared for him during these past months with faithful love, service and faith in his Lord and Savior.

Albert was a remarkable man of God and he will be deeply missed. We now celebrate his life and honor him for the way he lived. We are profoundly blessed by being part of his legacy, as he lived out his relationship with Jesus and served others as beautifully as he did.

His master said to him,
‘Well done, good and faithful servant.
You have been faithful over a little;
I will set you over much.
Enter into the joy of your master.’'
Mathew 25:23 ESV
