Dateline: Charlotte, NC

Mr. Richard Lance Owen, 69 of Charlotte, NC entered into eternal life Saturday June 12, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. Born in Washington, D.C the son of the late Horace Glenn and Helen Lovette Owen Weatherly. Mr. Owen was a craftsman with Atlantic Envelope Co. of Charlotte. And a US Air force Veteran, and also attended Sisk Memorial Baptist Church in Fort Mill. He was also a part time security guard with Weiser Security Services. Mr. Owen also loved to Shag at the beach. He was preceded in death by his wife Kay Jonas Owen and Sister Kaye Owen Healey.

Survivors include two sons: Richard Tindal and wife Cheryl of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jarrod Tindal and wife Janet of Moncks Corner, SC; one daughter: Lynne Owen Lewis and husband Patrick of Charlotte, NC; His Aunt: Ruth Lovette of Charlotte, NC; His Uncle: Edward Lovette and wife Dapathana of Burlington, NC; five grandchildren: Jamie Nicole Tindal Jordan, Richard Cody Tindal, Shannon Michelle Tindal Gerald, Randi Cooke and Kaitlyn Cooke; 3 great grandchildren; Special Friend: Trudy D. Freeman of Matthews, NC and Cousin: Bob and Jan Leonard of Belmont, NC.

A Celebration of life Memorial Service will be held Thursday June17th 3pm at Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Mill.  The family will receive friends following the service at the Funeral Home.
