Mr. Robert Bensberg age 62, of Ft. Mill, SC died peacefully at home after valiant 18 month battle with brain cancer Friday, December 25, 2009.

Robert was born September 4, 1947 in Bislich,Germany.  He worked for Endress & Hauser for 19 years as an engineer in automation and instrumentation. In his free time he enjoyed European soccer, Formula One racing and traveling.  He was a hardworking, humble and kindhearted man and is dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Angela, their son Ian, three brothers in Germany, and numerous extended family members in NC and Germany.

A memorial service and celebration of Robert’s life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 4519 Providence Road, Charlotte on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. A reception will follow at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105, a favorite charity of his or to Christ Lutheran Master’s Plan.

How fitting that Robert died on the day Jesus was born, guaranteeing Robert eternal life.
